Ayam Goreng is Indonesian for fried chicken. Unlike its American cousin, it is not coated in batter. Rather, it is pre-marinated with herbs and spices such as Indonesian bay leaves, candle nuts, turmeric (available in the Dish Ingredients section) before it is fried. Sounds like too much work? Serve with steaming rice and enjoy with leafy vegetables (lalapan) and sambal.
